Naprapathic connective tissue manipulation:

Soft tissue and connective tissue manipulation is one of the foundations of Naprapathy. Dr. Nina is highly skilled in the delivery of all Naprapathic techniques. We offer cervical, thoracic, lumber and pelvic areas as well as extremities manipulations. These specific adjustments help align the spine and reposition the constricted fascial and connective tissues allowing for the body to re-align itself and be in balance and harmony.

Electrotherapy:

Muscle stimulation used to relieve pain and muscle sprains/strains and to promote therapeutic muscle relaxation.

Neuromuscular Reeducation:

A therapeutic method used to improve balance, posture, coordination and promote healing of the soft tissue. These techniques attempt to retrain the neuromuscular system to function properly. The basis of this idea is that the formation of certain patterns of communication between muscles and nerves allow people to perform simple everyday acts such as climbing stairs. These normal patterns of movement can be disrupted by injuries or may be impaired in people with certain medical conditions. The general aim is either to re-establish normal patterns of movement in injured people or to create normal patterns of movement in disabled people, by practicing a variety of exercises.

PNF: Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation stretching:

These are stretching techniques commonly used in clinical environments to enhance both active and passive range of motion with the ultimate goal being to optimize motor performance and rehabilitation. The PNF technique is the optimal stretching method when the aim is to increase range of motion, especially in short-term changes. Generally an active PNF stretch involves a shortening contraction of the opposing muscle to place the target muscle on stretch. This is followed by an isometric contraction of the target muscle. PNF can be used to supplement daily stretching and is employed to make quick gains in range of motion to help improve performance.

Nutritional Counseling:

Nutrition is the foundation and key to all health. Dr. Nina says garbage in then garbage out in terms of what you eat. If you do not eat well you do not supply your body with the proper basic building blocks it needs to be healthy and maintain that health. Hippocrates said Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. Nothing could be truer. We do comprehensive nutritional counseling. We base our nutritional counseling on symptoms, conditions and testing done. We tailor each nutritional program to each individual. We use the best quality professional formulas and supplements that can only be found at your healthcare professional, such as Standard Process. We work with all nutritional needs, weight loss, gluten sensitivities, heart health, bone health, glucose and insulin balancing, and all other nutritional needs.

Laser:

Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Low level laser therapy or LLLT is a photochemical effect comparable to photosynthesis in plants where light is absorbed to exert a chemical change. Four physiological events occur when using LLLT or therapeutic photobiomodulation, they are:
  • Pain relief
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Increased circulation
  • Increased Cellular metabolic activity
There have been a large number of both animal and clinical studies that demonstrate highly beneficial LLLT effects on a variety of diseases, injuries and both chronic and acute conditions.
